Abstract
This study examines the effect of Return on Assets (ROA), Profit Growth, and Firm Size on Price to Book Value (PBV) of banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2017–2024. A quantitative approach was employed using panel data regression. The sample consisted of 23 banking firms selected through purposive sampling, yielding 184 firm-year observations. The findings indicate that ROA and Profit Growth have a positive and significant effect on PBV, while Firm Size has no significant influence. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly affect firm value, with the model explaining 80.3% of the variation in PBV (Adjusted R² = 0.803). The results suggest that investors place greater emphasis on profitability and earnings growth than on asset size when valuing banking firms. This study contributes to the empirical literature by providing evidence on the determinants of firm value across three distinct economic phases: the pre-pandemic period, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the post-pandemic economic recovery.
